Advice on Building Competence, Enhancing Communication, Enriching

Ideas for the Macho Person

Anger (which is a surface emotion) is often a cover-up for fear. There’s no shame in admitting that you’re frightened about something.

Avoidance can also be a cover-up for fear. This approach may be effective in the short-term, but not in the long term. Gather up your courage and face what needs to be faced.

Surprise yourself by deliberately doing something different. If you become entrenched in your position, you may be letting yourself be guided by your fears. Take to heart Eleanor Roosevelt’s words, ”People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.”
